The Board of Registered Nursing (Board) amended Section 1417 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations as an emergency regulatory action to raise many of the fees it charges to support the Board's operation. Office of Administrative Law approved this emergency regulatory action pursuant to Sections 11346.1 and 11349.6 of the Government Code. This emergency regulatory action became effective on August 20, 2015. To accommodate necessary programming changes to Board systems, the fee increases will take effect on October 14, 2015 and January 1, 2016.
Effective July 1, 2012, the Board of Registered Nursing is required to deny an application for licensure and to suspend the license/certificate/registration of any applicant or licensee who has outstanding tax obligations due to the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) or the State Board of Equalization (BOE) and appears on either the FTB or BOE's certified lists of top 500 tax delinquencies over $100,000.
